Level 3 First Aid at Work Qualification
The Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work is a regulated and nationally recognised qualification, specifically designed for those who are appointed to act as a first aider in their workplace.

Duration
Minimum 18 hours (3 days) delivery time which consists of both theory and practical sessions.

During this 3 day course, learners will develop the skills and knowledge needed to confidently deal with a variety of first aid situations. Topics include:

Assessments and Certification
Continuous assessment throughout the course plus practical assessments and 2 theory multiple choice questions papers. Successful learners will receive a Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work certificate which is valid for 3 years as well as a plastic aide memoire.
Level 3 EMERGENCY First Aid at Work Qualification
The Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work is a regulated and nationally recognised qualification designed for those who have a specific responsibility at work, to provide first aid in a range of emergency first aid situations. It is also ideal for people who have to provide basic first aid in a voluntary or community activities, such as Scout groups.

Minimum of 6 hours delivery time which consists of both theory and practical sessions.

Level 3 Paediatric First aid qualification
The Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid qualification has been designed for those who have a specific responsibility at work, to provide first aid to children and babies. This qualification fulfils Ofsted’s first aid requirements for early years teachers, nursery workers and childminders (as defined within the Statutory Framework for Early Years Foundation Stage and within the Child Care Register Guide).

Minimum 12 hours (2 days)

Assessment and Certification

EMERGENCY Paediatric First aid qualification
This 1 day course focuses on emergency first aid scenarios that may occur when looking after babies and young children.
This course is for people working with and caring for babies and young children.

Minimum 6 hours (1 day)

Syllabus
During this 1 day course learners will understand the role and responsibilities of the emergency paediatric first aider. You will also learn how to help a baby or child who is:

unresponsive and breathing normally
-
unresponsive and not breathing normally
-
having a seizure
-
choking
-
suffering from shock
-
bleeding
Assessment and certification
Practical and theory assessments throughout the course.
Learners will receive an Emergency Paediatric First Aid Certificate, valid for 3 years.
Important additional information
In line with Ofsted Early Years and Childcare Register requirements, at least one person who has a current full paediatric first aid certificate must be on the premises and always available when children are present, and must accompany children on outings. Childminders, and any assistant who might be in sole charge of the children for any period, must hold a current full paediatric first aid certificate.
Level 2 Award in CPR and
Automated External Defibrillation
This regulated and nationally recognised qualification provides learners with the knowledge and practical competencies needed to safely perform Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED).
The Level 2 Award in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and Automated External Defibrillation qualification has been designed for those who have a specific responsibility at work, or in voluntary and community activities to provide first aid and/or use an AED in an emergency.

During this half day course, learners will develop the skills and knowledge needed to administer effective CPR and use an AED when dealing with an emergency.

The course is continually assessed and includes practical assessments and multiple choice questions.
Successful learners will receive a certificate which is valid for 1 year.
First Aid at Work
Annual Refresher
HSE guidelines state that employers should ensure their first aiders remain competent to perform their role. As such, it is strongly recommended that first aiders undertake annual refresher training to practise their skills and update their knowledge on the latest first aid procedures.
The First Aid at Work Annual Refresher qualification is specifically designed to allow qualified first aiders to update their first aid skills yearly, until requalification training is required.
Course Duration and Syllabus
This 3-hour course will leave learners with renewed confidence having had the opportunity to practise essential first aid procedures, including:
